The Cornerstone: History, Baker, and Holidays

The image you see before you is one that is to be truly admired. This is the cornerstone of "Old Main," an elaborate series of buildings tht served the campus well until its demolition in 1959. This razing paved the way for Baker Memorial Chapel and various ther buildings to be built. It is important to reflect here upon the history of McDaniel Campus to see how far we have come. Traditions

As you know, we hold traditions to very high regard. Therefore this image is important to show how McDaniel honors its traditions from year to year. Every holiday season, this particular tree is lit up in a dazzling display of glowing white light. If you should ever have the chance to return to McDaniel for a second pilgrimage, late winter would be the time to come to see this tree in its full glory.
